The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord

The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord is celebrated Monday, August 6th.  This manifestation of God’s glory in the earthly Jesus who is Christ and Lord is celebrated to deepen our trust in the power of God.  Jesus certainly endured temptation, suffered and died; yet this is revealed to Peter, James and John as radiating the power of God in this world.  We can easily identify with the temptations, sufferings and death of Jesus through our faith and celebration of the sacraments.  Can we identify with the hope of glory pledged to us through Christ in whom we share in the sacraments?  Mass for this important feast of Christ will be on Monday at 8:00 a.m.
