Feast of St. Augustine of Hippo

Patron Saint of our Parish - This great teacher, preacher and bishop of the Church died on August 28th in the year 430, in Hippo in Northern Africa, where he ministered as bishop for some 34 years.  Hence, he is annually remembered on this day, his feast day, this coming Monday.  His numerous writings have been used by many over the past fifteen centuries and are still used today.  He has certainly influenced our understanding and appreciation of the faith in many ways even though we may not recognize his influence.  Perhaps we can reflect on one passage from his classic spiritual autobiography, The Confessions, as we remember him and celebrate the feast of the patron of St. Augustine Parish.  Please join us for Mass at 8:00 a.m., Monday, August 28th to celebrate the Patron Saint of our Parish.
