Good Shepherd Sunday

On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, the risen Christ is always presented to us as the Good Shepherd.  This Sunday reminds us that Christ is Alive (the Easter message) and that he cares for us.  This title of Christ, one of the earliest titles of Christ, and depicted in very early Christian art, evokes many thoughts and sentiments in our lives.  Appropriately, this year, this Sunday is also on the Sunday designated as a day of prayer for vocations to the ordained ministries and religious life and also on Earth Day.  Both bring to the surface some of the aspects of Christ, the Good Shepherd.
