St. Anthony of Padua was born in Lisbon, Portugal and spent much of his life as a humble Franciscan friar known for his outstanding teaching and preaching in Italy. He died near Padua, Italy on June 13, 1231. Today a massive basilica is built over his tomb. He is a Saint and Doctor of the Church. His feast is celebrated this Wednesday, June 13th with Mass here at 8:00 a.m. Mass/special services in Croatian at St. Anthony’s Franciscan friary in Chicago, Wednesday the 13th at 7:00 p.m. Contact rectory for carpooling.
