West Allis Church History

St. Augustine church was founded in 1928 by Croatian immigrants. Since 1930, the Franciscans's have ministered in St. Augustine parish. We continue to bring the Charism of St. Francis of Assisi into the lives our congregation through ongoing worship and some special religious services highlighting Francis of Assisi. We affirm our communion with the faithful of the Milwaukee Archdiocese and the Catholic Church throughout the world. We acknowledge the Franciscan spirit and Croatian heritage which have enriched our Catholic parish since its earliest years and continue to do so.

Located on the East side of West Allis, our values, mission and commitment to our family-like parish allows us to thrive with other local churches.  St. Augustine has been around for 85 years and we continue to grow as a united parish. We believe in praying and socializing together to enhance the bonds of our congregation. Our Church festivals are just one of many social activities we host in our continual efforts to increase parish camaraderie.
